The Beauty of Green Tea
Besides being delicious and a compliment to any occasion or tradition, I have recently discovered a few ways in which green tea can be used in homemade beauty recipes!
One source suggested that if you have puffy eyes in the morning or dark circles, to apply a compress of green tea leaves to your eyelids in an effort to reduce swelling. Best way to do this is to infuse a teaspoon of green tea in one cup of mineral water for 3-5 minutes. Allow to cool and refrigerate before using. Pour a few drops on a cool compress and apply to the eyelids for anywhere between 5-10 minutes. This is an easy thing you can do at home and hopefully with great results!
Green tea is also said to help the skin resist external pollutants because it is rich in antioxidants and protects against the formation of free radicals. Save any green tea leaves that have been infused and apply to your face for ten minutes. See if it helps!
Another tip I look forward to trying this summer is using green tea on my face. It is said that a tan will last longer if you pat your face with tea that has been infused for a long period of time. This would be great because I’d love to find a way to keep my summer fresh tan with less exposure to the harmful effects of the sun!
